The Maritime and Naval sector is expected to grow at a rapid growth rate with orders worth US$ 60 Billion under process by the Government of India for Coast Guard and Naval Requirements. Maritime sector including infrastructure, ports, shipping, boats and facilities is a high priority growth sector for India and the Government of India has already published the National Maritime Policy for growth of this sector.
With the aim of exploring business opportunities for the industry in the maritime sector and also to showcase the existing capabilities of the industry to the end-users, CII is organizing NAMEXPO 2012: A Premier Naval and Maritime Exposition and Conference in partnership with Indian Navy and with the support of Government of Kerala.NAMEXPO will have a larger participation from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). NAMEXPO is definitely one of the first events of its kind in India.
NAMEXPO is focused on widening the vendor base of Indian Navy and getting a glimpse of the latest technological and manufacturing advancements in the other parts of the world particularly in Japan, a leading maritime industrial power. NAMEXPO is the must exposition for the global maritime industries to showcase their products and services to the world’s fastest emerging maritime market.
As a part of the navy fest, the gates of the Naval base were opened for public to visit the Naval Base and the adjoining Naval Air Station. Naval warships and aircraft will be open to visitors (including school children) on those days.
Public visit time: Dec 13 to 16, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. everyday.
Another special attraction is Navy’s operational demonstration will be held at Rajendra Maidan and the adjacent Subhash Park Ernakulam from Dec 8 – 9, from 4:30 PM onwards. . An operational demonstrations showcasing various facets of the Indian Navy’s operations, combat display by ships, aircrafts & marine commandos. Navy Queen contest will be held on the end of this Fest.
